Homemade Christmas Jam is a festive, sweet, and tangy preserve made with cranberries, strawberries, and oranges, perfectly spiced with cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. This holiday jam is an ideal recipe for gifting, serving at breakfast, or spreading on warm bread and pastries. It combines the vibrant flavor of fresh fruits with aromatic spices, making it a must-have for Christmas morning or holiday celebrations.
Ingredients:
12 oz cranberries (fresh or frozen, thaw if frozen)
1 orange, peeled and sectioned
2 tsp orange zest
16 oz fresh or frozen strawberries (thaw if frozen)
¼ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp allspice
4 cups sugar (pure cane recommended)
1 package powdered fruit pectin (1–1.75 oz)
½ cup water
Instructions:
Wash jars, lids, and rings. Sterilize jars in a water-bath canner filled with water over medium-high heat. Place lids in a small saucepan with water and boil to sterilize. Set rings aside. Place cranberries and orange sections into a blender and chop coarsely. Add strawberries, orange zest, and spices, then blend until finely chopped but not pureed. Pour the fruit mixture into a 5-quart stockpot and stir in water. Mix in fruit pectin and ½ teaspoon butter to reduce foam. Bring mixture to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Add sugar, stir well, and return to a full boil. Boil for exactly 1 minute. Remove from heat and skim off foam. Immediately ladle hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving ¼ inch headspace. Wipe rims, place lids on jars, and secure rings finger-tight. Return jars to the canner, ensuring they are covered with 2 inches of water. Cover and process for 10 minutes once boiling. Turn off heat, uncover, and let jars rest for 5 minutes. Remove jars and place on a towel-lined counter. Allow to sit undisturbed for 24 hours before checking the seal. Properly sealed jars can be stored, while unsealed ones should be refrigerated and consumed within 2 weeks.
This easy homemade Christmas jam recipe is the perfect holiday gift idea and a delicious addition to any festive breakfast table. It’s a simple, reliable, and flavorful recipe that captures the true taste of Christmas in every jar.
